How many guests can Sapphire Ridge accommodate?

Sapphire Ridge welcomes up to four guests, with a king bedroom and additional sleeping space on the sleeper sofa. The retreat is especially well suited for couples, honeymoons and anniversaries, but it's also a wonderful escape for best friends, sisters, mother-daughter trips or a quiet getaway on your own.

How private is the cabin?

Privacy is one of the things that makes Sapphire Ridge special. The cabin is tucked into its own mountain setting, giving you room to relax and enjoy the outdoor spaces without feeling like you're sharing your getaway with a row of neighboring cabins.

Do I need four-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

No. Four-wheel drive is not needed. Sapphire Ridge is accessible with a normal passenger vehicle, and the road to the cabin is paved. There is a steep incline as you approach the cabin, which is common in the Smoky Mountains, but a standard vehicle can access the property. Simply take your time on the mountain roads and use extra caution during inclement weather.

Sapphire Ridge has a circular driveway with parking for up to two vehicles.

How far is Sapphire Ridge from area attractions?

Accepted Answer

You're tucked away in the mountains without being far from the places you may want to explore. Dollywood is approximately 15 minutes away, Pigeon Forge about 15-20 minutes, and Gatlinburg approximately 25-30 minutes away. Travel times can vary with traffic, weather and the season.

Is there really an outdoor shower?

Yes. Sapphire Ridge has a private open-air double shower designed for two. And yes, the privacy was intentional.

Is Sapphire Ridge only for couples?

Accepted Answer

Not at all. Couples are at the heart of many of the experiences we've created, and Sapphire Ridge is particularly special for honeymoons, anniversaries and romantic getaways. But connection comes in many forms. Best friends, sisters, mothers and daughters, and solo travelers are equally welcome.

Will we see bears?

Maybe! Black bears and other wildlife live throughout the Smoky Mountains, so you may be lucky enough to spot wildlife during your stay. Sightings are never guaranteed. Please admire wildlife from a safe distance and never approach or feed a bear or other wild animal.

Can we visit Dolly Parton's childhood home?

Dolly Parton grew up here in the Locust Ridge community, but her original family homeplace is private and is not a visitor attraction. We ask guests not to attempt to locate or visit the private homeplace. If you'd like to learn more about Dolly's childhood, Dollywood has a replica of her Tennessee Mountain Home where you can experience part of that story.

What is there to do nearby?

Great Smoky Mountains National Park, hiking, waterfalls, scenic drives, Dollywood, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are all within reach. Guests will also have access to The Sapphire Guide, filled with favorite hikes, restaurants, local discoveries and ideas for making the most of your time in the mountains.

Check-in: 4:00 PM. Check-out: 10:00 AM. You'll receive arrival information and everything you need before your stay.

Yes. Children are welcome at Sapphire Ridge. While the retreat has an intimate feel that makes it especially popular for couples, families of up to four are welcome to enjoy the Ridge too.
